Hyperbole Literary Term




Hyperbole is the use of exaggeration as a rhetorical device or figure of speech in which there is an obvious, extravagant or overstatement.
For example

  • I am so hungry I could eat a horse.
  • Ten thousand saw I at a glance.
  • I have a million things to do today.
  • He's got tons of money.
  • I am tired to death.
  • I've told you to do that a million times!
